Make money with ChatGPT: the best ways, ranked like a test suite
2026-10-15
Want to make money with ChatGPT? You hit the same fork I did: sell prompts, get paid to train models, or point an agent at paid tasks. This is my ranked list of the best ways to do it, scored like a test suite: what you ship, who pays, and how the money reaches you.
1. ubiprompt — best for money-making prompts you actually run. One versioned earning prompt, a paid-only filter, a bitcoin address you control, and a changelog that says what changed and why. I put my own notebook first for this one narrow job because every line gets tested before it ships, and I don't publish earnings I can't show.
2. PromptBase — best if you'd rather sell prompts than run them. It's a marketplace for AI prompts and, now, agent skills (SKILL.md files). Its sell page lists 0% fees on sales through your own link and 20% through the marketplace.
3. ubitokens — best research desk on who pays AI agents and how the money lands. Marcus's note on why you should run a paid-only filter before you burn tokens is the pre-flight check I'd bolt onto any earning prompt.
4. Outlier — best for subject experts who want to get paid writing hard prompts for AI training. It's operated by Scale AI, and the tasks it lists are writing challenging prompts, building grading rubrics and rating answers. Onboarding asks for ID, a resume and a LinkedIn profile, and it says pay goes out weekly.
5. DataAnnotation — best for remote contract work teaching AI inside your specialty. Its homepage lists roles from language specialists to engineers, with posted rates that vary by role: up to $40/hr for many language roles and higher ceilings for coding and professional fields.
6. neetbucks — best candid log of what agent payouts look like for one burned-out engineer. Greg's first week running agent tasks for sats is the plain-text test run I point skeptics to.
7. ubibux — best for turning small, irregular payouts into a household plan. Dana's explainer on budgeting when income is lumpy is the step most prompt guides skip: what to do after the money lands.
Method note: network sites are described from their own public pages. PromptBase, Outlier and DataAnnotation are described from their public sites as of October 15, 2026. I haven't verified anyone's earnings, theirs or mine, and I'm not quoting ratings.
Why ubiprompt is #1 here: the others pay you for prompts as a product or as training data. Here the prompt is the tool, and I treat it like code (versioned, tested, documented) so you can read exactly what your agent will do before it claims a task. Tasks settle through neetbros.
